Brewing Guide
Brew Guide for 10g Coffee Drip Bags:
-
Coffee-to-Water Ratio:
- Recommended Ratio: The globally accepted coffee-to-water ratio for drip coffee is typically 1:15 to 1:17.
- For a 10g coffee drip bag, use 150 to 170 ml of water to achieve an optimal extraction.
- This ratio provides a balanced brew where flavors are well-extracted without over-extraction or bitterness.
-
Brew Time:
- The total brew time should be approximately 2 to 2.5 minutes. This includes the water drip-through time.
- Pre-infusion (Blooming): Start by pouring about 20-30 ml of water (roughly twice the weight of coffee) to bloom the coffee grounds, allowing the CO₂ to release. Let it sit for 20-30 seconds.
- After blooming, continue slowly pouring water until you reach the desired total amount.
-
Water Temperature:
- Use water between 90°C and 96°C (195°F to 205°F), as this is the optimal temperature range for coffee extraction.
- Avoid boiling water, as it may scorch the coffee grounds, leading to a bitter taste.
-
Expected Brew Output:
- For a 10g drip bag with 150-170 ml of water, the expected output (or brewed coffee) should be around 130-150 ml after extraction, considering some water absorption by the coffee grounds and the drip filter.
-
Brewing Technique:
- Ensure you pour water slowly and steadily, evenly covering the coffee grounds for an even extraction.
- A slow and controlled pour, ideally in a circular motion, will help ensure the coffee grounds are fully saturated and extracted evenly.
